Founder

David Pope

David Pope is a commercial and operational executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience spanning healthcare, medical technology, energy, and publicly traded companies. Throughout his career, he has focused on transforming complex technologies into scalable commercial platforms while aligning operations, sales, engineering, and finance to drive growth and improve performance.

David began his career in medical technology with Erchonia Medical, supporting international expansion initiatives across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and contributing to product commercialization and physician adoption strategies. He also gained experience within the musculoskeletal device sector through Lone Star Extremities, whose technology platform was later acquired by Wright Medical and integrated into Stryker.

He later held senior leadership positions with publicly traded companies including ORBCOMM and Newpark Resources. At Newpark, he helped lead commercial and operational initiatives across North America, contributing to a business transformation supporting more than $265 million in revenue while managing large cross-functional teams. At ORBCOMM, he led growth initiatives within the energy sector, securing enterprise agreements and developing scalable commercial strategies.

As the Founder of Erythraxis, David brings a unique combination of healthcare, commercialization, and operational leadership experience. His background in building organizations, developing growth strategies, and bringing innovative technologies to market supports Erythraxis' mission to address unmet needs in testosterone replacement therapy-induced erythrocytosis.

David holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Sciences from Boise State University.

Dr. John P. Smith, D.O.

Dr. John P. Smith, D.O. is a board-certified osteopathic physician and practicing genitourinary medicine specialist with a decade of clinical training spanning family medicine, general urology, and men's health. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Genitourinary Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah, where he is dedicated to training the next generation of GU medicine clinicians.

Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSC) and completed a family medicine residency at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently completed a Genitourinary Medicine Fellowship at the Smith Institute for Urology at Northwell Health, with a focus on general urology, men's health, and office-based procedures.

Grounded in a broad general medicine foundation, Dr. Smith developed an early and enduring passion for men's health and urology. He is driven by the conviction that urological and men's health conditions remain an area ripe for continued study and that better research translates directly to improved care delivery and expanded treatment options. He brings both clinical rigor and genuine enthusiasm to advancing innovation in this space, whether at the bedside or in the research arena.

Dr. Smith is committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based medicine and biomedical innovation, and is an engaged father and active member of his community.
